Across Kintyre there are a number of memorials to the brave folks who sadly passed while serving our country.
Given the remote nature of some of these memorials, Campbeltown man and Veteran Jim McAulay decided to gather as much information as possible, starting with Campbeltown, with an eye to building a digital repository of information which would serve as an online memorial for those wishing to pay their respects and research those who died in the tragic conflicts of yesteryear.
Having done incredible work gathering this information, Jim approached a local Veteran and former shipmate who founded Blue Dolphin, to see if we could do something with the data and we were honoured and thrilled to offer our help.
Being a family of multiple veterans ourselves, we understand the importance of remembering the past in a bid to avoid repeating it as well as the necessity of offering an outlet to families who want to know a little more about their brave antecedents.
Lest we forget
(We are grateful to Muriel Adam of Edinburgh for allowing us to use images of the memorials taken by her late husband James. The images by James are used throughout the site.)
